Beings

Between driving the resurgence of symphonic anthem rock and questioning society with their whimsically emotive songwriting, Northampton’s biggest local noise makers are becoming the new face of the scene as they strive to bring their music to the masses. For fans of Interpol, Radiohead, Foals and Squid, there is a whole lot of sound from such a small group of boys to be enjoyed.

Renowned for their enthralling live shows and distinct sound, Beings have become one of Northampton’s must see acts as they continue to build traction everywhere they go. The unique blend of catchy melodies, cascading rhythms and celestial undertones creates a vessel that carries the band’s music to unprecedented heights; where the strange and dystopian meets the cathartic and contemporary. Blessed with a line up of passionate musicians along with their overtly compelling front man, Beings continue to rise through the saturation of the music industry as they have their sights set on bigger and better things.

While still very much in the early days of their journey together, Beings have already begun to make their mark with the release of two EP’s, in which we can see the band demonstrate their songwriting capabilities and eclectic forms of experimentation. Their debut self-titled release “Beings”, although short, moves as a flagship of the bands creative ambitions, and patent message of community in the ever so arduous modern age. “Manaquins” being a fan favorite brings the bands convulsive live show energy to sonic form, while “Somewhere” already screams stadium anthem material with its warmhearted catchy attitude.

With only being months apart in release time the bands follow up EP “SHUTDOWN/R” sees Beings’s songwriting rise in confidence, with more risks being taken such as wider sound experimentation, time signature changes and juxtaposition between sections; in which we see their iconic dystopian sound taking shape. “Sycophants” capitalizes on everything we already loved about the band, while “The High Life” works as a deadly dancefloor filler, making you want to dance and also throw down within the space of four minutes.

Through their most recent release we see the best parts of the Beings come together in “Fists & Feet” as the band draw a bridge between where they are and where they want to be. Crowned by its rhythmic dexterity and relatably ambiguous lyrics the song builds from its hooky guitar riff into a seamless wave of controversial wholeheartedness. Met by (front man) Alex’s cult leader-esque rant, the song projecting into it’s final statement of an outrageously epic synthonic conclusion that leaves the listener thinking “when the heck can I see these guys next?”. With so much to pride itself on and popping up after more than a year of silence could there possibly be a long awaited EP (or full length) release on its way soon?

While successfully asserting themselves amongst the local music scene this ethereal four piece have journeyed far beyond their stomping ground in their most recent triumph at TwinFest 2025. Not only did their headline set on opening night at Twinfest Northampton see Beings show the hometown why they're the ones to look out for. They also saw success when traveling over to Germany as part of the festival's sister event in Marburg, where the band saw themselves playing over multiple dates to new and intrigued crowds in an alien country. They continue to exceed expectations with every performance and appear on the slot of any local event worth attending; showing no signs of slowing down.

Despite Beings being fantastic musicians and having the ability to craft great songs, they're also prized on being a really funny and down to earth group of guys; with the few bits of social media content they put out highlighting this. It’s no wonder why they’ve risen to the prestige they are acclaimed for with so much support gathering behind them; though the question seems to be “Where to next?” for this group with unfathomable amounts of potential and an unquestionable desire for the art they create. If you ask me, I'd go so far as to say nationwide success could be on the horizon, with a full length release really seeing them break ground and rise they’re working towards.
